1. SELF-SUPPORTING SYSTEM
WITH TWIST TIES

I researched twist-ties characteristics by experimenting with how they fold, shrink, and crump.

Each woven sample has a different shape and size as I manipulate them with my hands. This hand manipulation experimentation shows the advantages of the material itself and the possibility of transformation.

The details of the manipulation experiment video ︎︎︎here.

2. INDUSTRIAL MATERIALS WITH COLOR INTERACTION

I’ve always been interested in and inspired by scaffolding systems in New York City. The multi-layered structure and system inspire me to think about how two different elements can be harmonized and saturated with each other. I explored industrial materials of different colors and how they can be absorbed as a full spectrum through these material samples.

3. MATERIALS WITH ELONGATION AND ELASTICITY IN WOVEN FABRIC

I explored materials such as synthetic nylon and plastic transparent cords through woven pieces and how these synthetic cords’ characteristics: elongation and elasticity create the form more freely function in the woven pieces.
